what is the star that can be filled in or empty for each contact near the top right of the screen?
It marks a contact as a Favorite, which is a quick-accss group within the phone dialer app.
Forgot to mention that one way of using the starred contacts is with Do Not Disturb, i.e., you can allow those calls through while other calls go straight to voice mail.
