What does the network extender do do
The Verizon Network Extender uses your high speed internet (Cable or DSL required) to extend the network within the range of the extender. So basically it creates a network within your home or office using your internet connection. It would not be effective for someone that does not have high speed internet access at home or work.

Why would your network not work anymore in your own area when it used to work great
Some reasons are new construction, trees, etc interfering with signal from local tower.
