spent 6 hours and 5 different reps and no one can figure out why my phone is dropping calls all the time. Total run around....no one will call back...leave you on hold for hours....which doesnt really work well when your phone drops calls.....
Hours is an exaggeration, reps get yelled at when holds are over 5 minutes, let alone hours.
No its not an exaggeration! Started at 6pm...gave up at midnight. 4 or 5 different reps...can't talk to a supervisor. When you are constantly on hold and it randomly drops calls and no one will call u back...yep 6 hours!

Talked to rep named O'Brien..told me to restart phone and dial #832. Said he would call,me back in a few minutes to make sure the restart worked..which it didn't..no call received for 3 hours. Meanwhile I called back...can't talk to same rep...Edward..new rep..said do the same process but remove the sim card also, restart and dial,#48. Message said not connected to 4g lte. Edward was to call back and did not. Both men said my phone was connected to wrong tower. Then on chat, I was told to call, this Frontier technical # which is for internet! So,called again..got Naheel...same process except did factory reset..no go! Ask for supervisor, waited over an hour, after a brief conversion call was dropped...imagine that. No return call. I called again asked for same supervisor..waited 20 minutes. Naheel said she was transferring the call...and...it disconnected. Gave up!! Switching to another carrier tomorrow!
We never want to see you go. We encourage you to contact us from a device other than the one we need to troubleshoot. This way we can avoid ending any calls and continue troubleshooting with you. We would like to figure out what is going on for you. Since this started, have you tried a new SIM card? You can get one for free at any Verizon Wireless corporate store locations. You can find one at VZW.com/Stores. We can also do basic troubleshooting. Have you done any recent updates? How long has this been going on?

First, what does "dropping calls all the time" mean to you? I ask as there are some folks with very unrealistic expectations for calls and network performance, especially when living in a rural area.
If you really don't know what is causing this, you can do some basic troubleshooting yourself!
It most likely comes down to one of two possibilities: a problem with the phone/equipment itself or where you are in relation to the towers (coverage issue).
You can usually figure which of the two possibilities it is quite simply, via a basic process of elimination.
Do you have other lines/phones on Verizon?
-If so, are they having the same issue?
>If yes, it is likely that this is related to where you are trying to use service in relation to the network's towers which will occur with ANY carrier if not in range of the towers as they use radio waves to communicate.
>If not then it is probably a problem with the device itself and you can try different equipment to see if this corrects the problem.
That's where I would start if I really didn't know what was causing dropped calls.
