Can I connect my Ellipsis 8 to an HDMI TV?

I have an Eillipsis 8 that I would like to connect to our van's rear entertainment system (rather than lugging around movies on a long trip). I tried ordering a micro USB to HDMI cable, but the van wouldn't pick up the tablet with that. Does anyone know what I need to make that work?

The ellipsis doesn't have the ability to connect via an HDMI cord due to hardware limitations, but it can connect to other device screens that are capable of wirelessly casting the screen
