iPhone to iPhone calling issue

I have an iPhone 8+ and my fiance has an iPhone 6+.  In the last week when I try to call him, it goes directly to voice mail.  When I hang up and immediately redial, the call goes through. My daughter has an iPhone X and I don't have the same issue with her.  I reset my phone and it fixed the problem for less than 24 hours.  Both phones have been updated with the latest update.

Having reliable call service at all times is important. Let's make sure all your calls make it. Has this issue presented itself with any other calls? Do you have any issues sending text messages (SMS or iMessages) to this number? Has troubleshooting been done on both devices?
