Nougat is now generally available for LG V10 and other carriers have made this OS update available. When will Verizon release it?
when they've completed their testing & feel it's ready for your phone!!
dietz1000,
We know how important it is to have the latest software. Making sure that we do extensive testing on this with LG is crucial. You can always refer to this link http://vz.to/2gfmb2P to check on the software update releases. As we don’t have an anticipated release date, we always want to make sure that your phone is working like a well oiled machine. Are you having any issues we can help with? If so, please share what is going on.

Battery life! Really hoping "Doze on the go" helps with this.
Put in a VOC entry at LG's Support site. Tell them you are not happy with the delay being experienced as an Verizon customer. Attempt to determine if LG had provided VZW with the update already. Likely it did.
I just talk to Verizon Customer Service yesterday, They said the update will be out Feburary 6, 2018!
I would like to know when it is will be updated too. Thanks.
This is nothing to be excited over. The phone is already past the LG's OS support meaning if 7 is released it will likely be the last OS that it gets. The phone came out October 30, 2015. I bought it on October 31, 2015. I am mad that LG waited so long to update it and they weren't even going to update after 6.0. It hasn't even gotten 6.0.1. Now 9 is ready to come out (Google usually releases late Spring). LG dropped the ball on this.

Actually Oreo is the latest OS. And Google releases them in the fall.
Well .... today is the 6th of February ... where the Nougat? ... or is this "the 6th of never"?

it was never coming to the V10.
Originally it wasn't coming to the V10 but LG started making it available, first in the Asian market, then slowly across the world. If it all at this point. This is why I stopped using LG smartphones and will NEVER buy another one again. This coupled with the boot loop feature is enough for me to have gotten fed up. LG does design some great hardware but this is just NOT worth it.
This is really poor communication on Verizon's part. Nougat is now generally available for LG V10 and other carriers have made this OS update available. When will Verizon release it?
Basically, when they feel like it. If they do.
MOBetta,
I know you anticipate updates to your device. I'd love to provide you with the information you're looking for. However, this is information that I don't have. I do not want to set any incorrect expectations. You can always stay in the loop by signing up for email updates by clicking here: https://forms.verizonwireless.com/dgf/optin/2012/08282012_general_optin/
Thank you,

There will be no Nougat update for the V10. You do not need any announcement from Verizon to come to this conclusion. The problem is not with LG. They updated it about a year ago. T-Mobile updated theirs to Nougat back in March or April of 2017. Verizon did not, even though the phone is MORE than capable of running it. I have stated this several times on a few of these forums, but sadly, that is part of owning an Android device. I own a LG V10 and think it is a great phone, but as far as updates and support go for it, Verizon dropped it months ago. My last phone, a HTC Max, received NO OS updates the two years I had it, and my previous HTC got one. Like somebody else said, if you want a phone that is going to get support and updates for 5-6 years, you have to buy an iPhone. They do not let the carriers put their garbageware on them, so it is completely up to Apple when they get updates. I was going to get a new iPhone 8 Plus or X this year, but the carriers no longer let you buy a phone for a reasonable price on a contract. Since they all now make you spend full price on a device, the V10 will be my last phone. Anyhow, I am digressing! In a nutshell, Android devices are only going to be supported for a brief period of time. You will get a bit more support getting a Google device, or maybe a Samsung, but they will still be no where near the iPhone. I am not an Apple fan (or an Apple hater), but this is just the way it is!

Contracts were NOT reasonable. Simple math the cheapest iPhone is usually $650 full price. On the Verizon plan line fees were $20 for phones paid for full price. So phone cost plus line fees for 2 years was $1130.
Iphone on contract would have been $200 upfront and line free of $40 per month for 2 years. Total cost $1160. So MORE money and locked into a 2 year contract.
