The New Verizon Unlimited Plan

Hey, why did my plan change? My wireless router went from 10 G at 4 LTE G to 15 G at 4 LTE G. Sounds great, more for the same price. BUT after I have used my 15 G my download speed drops from 4G to 600kbps not 3G. Best I can find out, there's a significant difference between 600kbps and 3G. Also, somehow I used the additional 5G in less than 3 days. I haven't increased my time on the computer so I'm flabbergasted by all of this. Any thoughts?

600 kbps is 3G speeds.

I have the same problem. Unfortunately, Verizon has the "brilliant" idea to slow us down. BS! They do not understand computers and other gadgets attached to the internet require updates and when they do download those updates they consume those 15G data limit. Making this device useless in about 3 days from when the cycle starts. Worse purchase ever! As soon as I find a good option I will disconnect this service with Verizon, even if I have to pay their hidden fees. Verizon is turning into a rich customers company.

There are several options out there. Make sure you read the fine print, Be it Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile. All the carriers offer a set amount of data for hotspot use. And like Verizon, when you reach that limit, they all throttle the hotspot speed to 3G for the remainder of the billing cycle. For example, AT&T throttles their hotspot speed to 128kbps after you reach your Hotspot data allocation. As does T-Mobile.
