A few months ago I stopped being able to receive texts from my husband's cell phone. It worked in the morning, then just stopped. He has a work issued phone with Verizon service. I do not have him blocked. Any other suggestions?

A few months ago I stopped being able to receive texts from my husband's cell phone. It worked in the morning, then just stopped. He has a work issued phone with Verizon service. I do not have him blocked. Is it possible I marked him as Spam? How do I check?

Four questions:

What model phone do you have? How about him? Be specific please.

Did either of you receive an Over the air (OTA) update for your device?

Does anyone else have problems receiving texts from your husband's phone?

1) I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+

2) He has an Iphone 6s that he just switched to from a 4s. (Work issued phone) Still same problem.

3) I get OTA updates, he doesn't. This problem started in early August.

4) No one that we know of is having trouble getting texts from him.

I've never had an Iphone. Always an Android. The day it stopped, it worked at 9 am...by 1 pm...no more!!

I don't think it's that since he can text other non-iphones with no problem

This is so strange.

I feel we are missing a piece of information.

Do you or does he have an iPAD, or do you or does he have ANOTHER Apple account?

Nope, we don'thave any ipads. Just Samsung tablets. And he only has one Apple account. This problem started in one day from the morning to the afternoon with no known changes to our accounts.

Okay. Just to summarize. There is only one appleid involved. You can both call each other. Each of you can call and text other people, both on iPhone and Android with success. You can text him but he cannot text you...

On his texting app, does he get any error when texting you? Does it appear to go through fine and you don't see it?

I'm not giving up yet...

The summary is right on, unfortunately.

He doesn't get an error message. No little red exclamation point. It appears to go thru. I have a google voice number that his texts go thru to, just not to my Verizon number. So frustrating.

RHMINK, we know that you need answers and those messages coming through again. You mention the Google Voice number, was there any change to that in connection with your phone around that time? Do you recall any app or software updates when this began?

No change in connection that I was aware of. I have had the same Google Voice number for years without a problem. My phone gets automatic updates so I don't know if there are any updates around that time. It's possible, but I don't recall seeing anything like that.
