Connect Cisco wireless access point

How do i connect my wireless access point to the smart hub? The smart hub works fine to access the internet using the smart hub as the entry point. However, when i connect the wan port of the access point to the smart hub, i can't make it to the internet with the access point as the entry point into my home network.

Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I attempted to plug in my Netgear router to the smart of to utilize all of my current wifi settings in my Netgear, only to find that nothing would work on my netgear router when connected to the smarthub. Does not make sense to me but sounds like the same issue
