It seems that a lot of people are having the same problem I am but I didn't really see any solutions. I rarely have more than two bars, and drop calls constantly. This is a recent development in the last few weeks. I have an iphone se. I ready to ditch Verizon and go with a new provider if I can't get this corrected.

PATTYP57, seeing you go leave would be a devastating turn of events, so it is more than mandatory we take a closer look into your drop call issue. Please provide me with the current zip code that you are in. How far from that zip code do you have to travel for call quality to improve? Please provide me with further detail on if the issue is occurring inside or outside. Are you utilizing Wi-Fi or high-speed internet at your home?

My zip code is 16125. I'm sitting in my living room right now and only have 2 bars. I have Wi-Fi. It doesn't matter if I am inside or outside. It is especially bad in my vehicle which has hands free service. In January when I got the vehicle the reception was perfect. Now I am lucky to be able to make a call at all. I have been as far as Niagara Falls, NY with no noticeable difference.

Have you tried reseating the SIM card? Replaced it?

Ditching Verizon isn't going to fix your underperforming antenna the SE comes with.

Perhaps you should upgrade your phone. Also I don't see what your post has to do with the title

Yep. I wonder how many reception issues have to do with people buying cheap phones or having really old phones. Also love how people think Verizon shoudl be able to slap up anew tower anywhere they want whenever they want. If people have the ability to switch carriers then Verizon has every incentive to make sure the reception in those areas stays at a consistent level.

Sorry, but the SE certainly wasn't cheap and this is just a new issue. I have had the phone for quite some time. Also, I never mentioned putting up new towers because there is adequate coverage in my area.

There used to be a method to update your tower reception by using *228 on your phone. Oh, and by the way I think you should learn some manners. Not everyone has the funds to just upgrade anytime.

For the LTE phones, rebooting the phone has replaced the *228 for updating the PRL list.

SE is cheap phone just because Apple charges a premium for it doesn't make it not cheap. ALL Apple products are overpriced

That's for NON-LTE phones If you do that on a LTE you can damage your SIM card. Also there is a thing called device payments. You can get phones for as little as $7 a month

And you state you've had the phone awhile. You think a phone stays in pristine condition forever? it is possible over time that heat and exposure has affected the ability of the antennas to get a signals. Not that the antennas were that great to begin with on that phone.

Also the SE only supports 2X carrier aggregation and only on 10 MHz and only 2X2 MIMO. Compared to say my Pixel 2 XL which can do 3X carrier aggregation on 20 MHz with 4X4 MIMO.

I have the exact same issue. I have a Samsung S8 and switched to Verizon in November . Ever ever since I switched to Verizon my quality of voice and data is awful. It makes no difference if I am in downtown Seattle, downtown Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Woodinville, San Francisco, Chicago, Manhattan. Verizon claims Samsung, while Samsung claims Verizon. It is no longer worth paying a premium for Verizon over other carriers.
