Why can't I get my Vivek SD card reader to work on my ellipsis 10?

When I insert my Cover SD card reader into my Ellipsis 10 nothing happens. What can I do to get it to work?

Those are not compatible with each other. The card reader works with USB 3.0/C capable devices.
