LGHow to get my G5 and android auto to work together?

My LG G5 works fine when not connected to my car, a 2018 KIA NIRO, but when connected the phone automatically goes into drive mode, do not disturb is automatically initiated and google maps stops talking so I get no calls, no notifications and the only way to use the map is to look at it on my phone. How can I get it to work properly?

Those are definitely important features that need to work correctly when you connect your phone to your car. Please keep in mind that not all phones are compatible with all car brands.   You can try general troubleshooting steps to see if that will help the situation however it will not be guaranteed that it will work as needed. Disconnect the phone from the car and erase all information of that phone from the memory of the car. Set up the connection again to see if it works better.
