My last bill had a charge for international text messages that I don't recall receiving. I called customer service and we looked into the messaging detail online and saw that there were three messages sent one minute apart on 11/27.
I asked if it was possible to block all international texting and was told it was an either all or none setting for texting as there was no way to identify international from domestic. Yet, they can for billing! I then asked if I can block the number that called, and was informed that I could add number blocking capabilities for $4.99/mo; however, you can only block domestic numbers!
The rep was nice enough and directed me to these forums, but it is maddening to be told these are the options available to solve my problem, when neither would accomplish what I want. She did reverse the charge – it was sixty cents – not a lot on one bill, but imaging the cost if every Verizon subscriber received 3-10 messages.
