help with wifi calling and disappearing keyboard

I switched to Verizon less than a week ago and got a LG V30.  I've activated wifi calling on my phone, but it is not working at all.  I had no problem using wifi calling on my old Samsung Galaxy S7, so it should not be a network issue. 

I'm also having an issue where my keyboard keeps disappearing when I'm typing, or using talk to text for, text messages.  I tried installing a new keyboard, but am still having the same problem.
