How do I turn off LTE on iPhone 6S?

I don’t have a lumia but I do have an iPhone 6s. I have chosen not to enable LTE (it says it’s off in the settings.), but yet I still see the LTE symbol present. How do I make it so that I see the 3G symbol? LTE uses too much data and drains battery.
