A few months back I had to go set up 4 new phones due to my newly ex husbands new wife. Yeah that was a mess. However I had to get new lines set up and 4 new phones because he would not let me keep them and transfer to new account. I am a newly single mom of two teenagers, one of which is on college and one in high school. Not sure why I am putting all the details out there other than to lay the story line. When I went into the store I was there for awhile making sure what my bill would be, so that I could ensure it was something I could afford each month. I was promised my monthly bill would range $280-$290 depending on taxes. First bill came around and it was $492 my heart sank it took me awhile to come up with the extra money and the day the shut off our phones I was in there paying the bill and trying to ask the same store I set the phones up at what happened to my promised lower bill. Only thing they were able to do was tell me I had the insurance added and was paying for it even though I told them no because I could not afford it. Not only that I was charged an $80 reconnect fee that I was never told about. If my college child, high school child, and senior parents did not need these phones I would be cancelling it. I have never been lied to and taking advantage of in this way. I had always loved Verizon services and my ex and I had them for 15 years but after these phones are paid off we will be switching. I feel taken advantage of.
