I have been with Verizon for over 20 years and I fell like you get punished for being single or no kids to put on your plan.

Why is that? We have to pay so much for our service. We are being discriminated against for being single.

I really do not want to leave. I have been a VERY faithful customer of a company who doesn't take into consideration that everyone doesn't have a family of four!!

Like most other items you can purchase, you get lower prices when you purchase in bulk. Cellular service is no different.

This is not something which is limited to Verizon, or even the cellular industry for that matter. You can normally negotiate or receive lower prices when purchasing in bulk. It is cheaper for the seller which then passes on the savings to the buyer.

You don't think a business is doing the right thing when it passes on the savings it gets from bulk purchases?

For instance, I purchased a gallon of milk yesterday. It was $3.29 for a gallon. I could have gotten a half gallon for $2.29(or $4.58/gallon if you purchase 2 half gallons). Are people who purchase half gallons of milk instead of gallons of milk being punished/discriminated against?

Buy a candy at a vending machine, now buy a pack of the same candy and notice the price per bar. This is basic economy, not some targeted attack.

I think you might be taking the words family plan too literally. For example on my Verizon plan, we have me, my brother, my mom , my brother's roommate, my brother's roommates fiancé, my brother's ex-girlfriend's sister and my mother's cousin, all on the same account, which allows us to get the 4 or more lines price but not all of us are related. If you have some friends that are also Verizon customers you might be able to get on one account and that way you can enjoy the " family plan" pricing.

I would be curious as to what you chose to do? If it is to switch carriers, they all have the same sliding scale according to how many lines you have on your account.

T-Mobile unlimited 1 line for $70 and $40/line for 4 or more lines.

AT&T unlimited 1 line for $70 and $40/line for 4 or more lines.

etc...

Regardless of which carrier you choose, you get a discount for multiple lines...

It's unlikely the OP has bothered to price other carriers to find this out. Also they think customers posting here are Verizon employees for some reason. I swear Verizon needs to change the name form Community Forum to Customer to Customer forum with "NOT customer service forum" also in the title.

I am single and have a plan that meets my needs and price. I don't feel I'm being punished for being single. What plan are you on? How many devices do you have on your plan? How do you use data?
