Ellipsis Jetpack data usage

Just purchased an Ellipsis for use only on my desk top for the internet. All I do is read some news, check the weather and my E-Mail. After approx. 3 hrs on the net I used a half a gig. At that rate I will cost me a fortune to continue using this device. How could I be using so much data?

You're constantly sending and receiving data over hours, that's going to eat data. Jetpacks are mainly for people that travel and rarely use their equipment, not a home internet replacement.

Computer updates, desktop grade websites that aren't optimized for a mobile data connection - just to name a few.
