I've had it! I'm at the end of my mental rope over these relentless spam callers. Verizon, you have the technology to allow your paying consumers to have the ability to specifically block area codes and block area code plus three number exchange. Please, do not insult my intelligence by stating that you can't provide us with that service. The current "remedies" your company tout are ineffective...and you know it. The numbers coming in are not valid numbers. In less than 24 hours, I received 6 calls from 201 area code with 205 exchange. Coincidence that the 205 exchange is the same as my exchange? I think not. I've reported and blocked. I'm registered on the National Do Not Call List. So, as a consumer, I've done my part. It's time, as the service provider, to do yours. Also...what is the purpose to sending me a notification that a "blocked number" was blocked????? Why??? I don't care. I don't need to be notified that you did your dang job. Just block it...and let my phone be silent.
Filing complaints is impossible. The numbers aren't legit. The complaint requests information about the company making the calls. It's hard to provide such information when the number doesn't connect to any entity or individual. No agency can pursue "Ann who is peddling healthcare" from a number that leads to nowhere. So...let the consumer have the power to curb this relentless irritation and give us the ability to block by area code and area code plus exchange.
My bills are always prepaid each month...I believe I've earned the right to ask for such capabilities. I demand the capabilities!
