I am virtually helpless when it comes to phone technology, internet, etc. But are we talking about no data service? If so, I cannot access the internet via my phone as I am NOT currently connected to my home internet service.

I just got this from Messenger: Verizon Wireless is currently experiencing service interruption for customers in some areas of Michigan. Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working diligently to resolve it. Affected customers are encouraged to enable Wi-Fi calling to make and receive calls at no additional charge. It should be noted when a cell site experiences interruption, mobile 911 calls will automatically connect to any available network regardless of carrier to complete the emergency call. - Steven

The outage was caused by a fiber optic cable being cut.

I know it's never ideal to be without service, billyboston. I'm happy to shed some light. It is true as you mentioned that Verizon Wireless was currently experiencing service interruption for customers in some areas of Michigan. However, those issues have now been resolved. If you should be experiencing any further issues, please let us know which services are impacted (calling, texting or mobile data) and the nearest cross streets and zip code of your current location.
