Phone only rings once on My Numbers

I recently started using My Numbers. The last few days, when people call me it rings once and then goes straight to voicemail, but when I talk with the caller I am informed that it rang 6-7 times on their end. What can I do to ensure my phone rings enough times that I can answer it before going to VM?
