Emergency alerts

My androud on ocassion pops up an emergency alert. It asks me to confirm it. I go to settings and turn off alerts. I find no use in these. I also at times have my phone beep extremely loud,. Figire it is tied to the emergency alert. How can I shut this off completely. Thanks all.

The alerts are designed to inform you of imminent threats to safety or missing persons alerts in your area. However, you may change your device’s settings to opt out of Imminent Danger and AMBER Alerts, but you can’t opt out of Presidential Alerts. Which make and model phone do you have?
