HELP! Ally Backup

My SD card is now corrupt. I do not know how. It was in my phone and then when I went to take a picture it said "SD card Corrupt. You may need to reformat." I don't want to lose everything on my 4 gig card!

When I bought the phone the guy said that all pics and videos get backed up by Google somewhere. Where can I find my stuff?

Please help me!

As far as I know, google only backs up contacts and calendar stuff. However, the ally comes pre-loaded with backup assistant so I would look into that.

Unfortunately the contacts are the only thing backed up by Google. If your card has become corrupt you will need to format to be able to reuse it in your phone. You may try to plug it up to your computer and download them from the phone. But you will still need to format your card. Hope this helps.

Ouch, I don't blame you for not wanting to loose your content... I think the Rep was referring to is "Picasa" ... it's an online photo/video storage site that is a Google Applicaion. If you go to Google, and then choose More and then Photos it will take you to the Picasa web site where you can create an account. You can then set it up so that photos from your phone will be uploaded to Picasa. From the web site you can manage the photos if you need to.

As far as the MicroSD card goes, have you mounted it on your PC and tried to copy the files off of it? If you can get to the files and copy them then you can format the card and copy them back... It shouldn't take too long. But having something like Picasa or PhotoBucket are very handy to back up your photos.

that will only work if you download your pictures before your card is damaged. is there anyway to recover what is on the card after??? i have tried unmounting and remounting several times and keep getting the message that the sd card is damaged, you may need to reformat. but i want to get my stuff of the card before i have to reformat or all is lost. i have tried putting it in a reader on my computer and trying it in a different phone to no avail. i have been told my only other option is to find a data recovery service. does anyone no of any in the Davenport, IA area?

Have you tried removing card from device and place it in the PC card reader and see it the card reads the data, if it does copy everything and format card and then try to see if card works after that.... As for recovering apps from a corrupt card can sometimes be restored with recovery software but I can not suggest one app that is guaranteed to work because I havent ever found just one to work for every situation.

Try Google SD Card recovery applications and you should find a number of them to try.
