Manual setup of Mobile Email on Samsung Reality

I got a Samsung Reality for my partner specifically because of the Mobile Email package. He doesn't need a smartphone, just simple email. But it refuses to set up his email. He has email that comes with his personal website, so the doman isn't yahoo.com or gmail.com. The email program is setup through the free Google Apps mail program. This shouldn't be a problem, because according to the Verizon FAQ on Mobile Email, I should be able to do a manual setup and plug in the correct pop settings. However, for the life of me, I cannot find the "manual setup" anywhere in the Mobile Email settings. Is it even there?

I found this. If you choose, 'Other' email there is not a manual setup option?

When you click on "other" it just asks for your email address and password. There are no other options. When you sign in with that information, the phone says that I need to input more information -- but of course it doesn't tell you how. Ack!

I have the exact same problem with my new Reality!! I have a Comcast email account. All I can do is add that email address and password, but it never allows me to enter the incoming/outgoing codes. Has anyone got a solution??

No worries at all I have found the set-up instructions for you.

1. To begin pull up the email application

2. Choose to add email client

3. Choose other

4. Enter your username and password.

5. You will then be prompted to enter server information

6. Enter the server information.

7. Set-up should now be complete.

Once you have done this your email should work correctly. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem. I have a yahoo small business account, and the mobile email would only open my associated individual user account not the other account even when I put in that email and password.

Then, because I thought I had the wrong email, I went to the Mobile Web Email, but that's NOT what I want, right? because that's not the free one included on my plan. Right? But now when I go to Mobile Email I get a big "terms of use" screen -- "unless you subscribe to VCAst VPak.....airtime or data use charges will be imposed in accordance with your calling plan." and on and on. I don't want to accept because I want to use the Mobile Email and configure it to receive the email account I'd like. If I choose decline it closes, but opens to this screen the next time I try it.

Basically, now I cannot access ANY email account (I could yesterday) without answering this accept question. How can I get back to where I was so I can follow the above instructions to set up my email?

After it prompts that you need additional information to add this account, you should be able to scroll down on the same screen, it should autofill a bunch of fields for your smtp & pop servers?

Sometimes you might need to check w your service provider to see what the correct pop & smtp addresses are.

(My optonline is different than my nyc.rr account)

The Terms of Use screen always pops up when you set up Mobile Email.

If you have a data package, which I believe is required if you are using a Reality, the monthly Mobile Email charge of $5 is waived/ already included in your monthly data package charge. Just hit Accept and go thru the prompts.
