Extender causing issues with SMS/TEXT

hi---

New Verizon extender (switched out samsung one)...after set up, most if not all SMS/Text will not go through. I have an android, and rest of Household has iPhone--all have same issues. I have to keep click try again...and only goes through when I unplug the extender
