HOURS Wasted!

I was given a Samsung Tablet as a gift for my birthday. Now Verizon is trying to charge me a buyout fee of almost a $100. I can't get them to take it off of my bill even though they acknowledge it's a mistake. I have spent countless HOURS on the phone trying to get this resolved. The last time I was on the phone with them for an hour and got disconnected, right after they assured me they were getting someone to get the charge removed from my account. I am getting notices that they're sending me to collections for an erroneous charge. How in the world can you get Verizon to remove a charge from your account that doesn't belong there? I did not buy a tablet and put it on my account to pay it off over time. IT WAS A GIFT! They are charging me a buyout fee for a tablet that was a gift. How dies that happen?!?!

You accept terms & conditions as a customer on any order before it processes, A tablet will either be under a 2 year contract or a monthly payment plan. Even devices marketed as "free" still have an agreement attached to it. Those have monthly credits that offset the payment plan that end if disconnected early with you agreeing to pay off any remaining balance of the loan.

Charge is valid, you didn't read the terms before agreeing to the service.

Such a garbage answer. The tablet was a GIFT. I wasn't at the store when it was purchased. Someone bought it for me and paid cash. I NEVER authorized any changes to my account other than $10 a month for data on my current plan.

How could you even say I didn't read the fine print when the tablet was a gift. Shame on you!
