Phone for Christmas Gift

My fiance is with T-Mobile and has a iPhone 8+. Her daughter is also on the plan and has a iPhone 12. I would like buy my fiance a new iPhone 12 and add her and her daughter to Verizon my plan for Christmas. We will need to cancel her T-Mobile account which I understand is month to month.
