Port from Tmobile did take a few days. I've been with Verizon for a month now and occasionally SMS short text does not come through. I continually have to do different resets (network, power on/off, etc.) the problem still remains.
You’re lucky it works at all. I tried to port my number from Sprint and I couldn’t receive calls or text for 60 days at which point exactly I was mysteriously issued a new phone number. Waited for 2 hours and nobody answered their support line. Had to go to a store to get “help” (a different number to call for porting issues). Never succeeded. Over $300 spent on billing for the first 2 months on a nonfunctional phone. I thought Verizon was supposed to be the best. Highly disappointing.
I’m facing similar issue after porting in from AT&T. Some come through and some don’t.
