Droid does not send Outgoing emails for my AOL

My Droid will can receive emails for my AOL account, but when I try to send an email from my Droid, for some reason it just sits in the outbox and never goes anywhere. I have deleted and readded my AOL account quite a few times and I have even taken the phone into the verizon store for help and they run into the same problem. If anyone can help, please.

Are you attempting to set up your outgoing mail the same as your PC??? if so that is the issue. The settings are different on a mobile device.

Try Server Type IMAPO

Incoming server imap.aol.com

Incominc Port 143

Uses secure server??? NO

Verify Ceriticate YES

(If incoming is OK, do not feel obligated to change the settings, except outgoing is going to require an IMAP server)

Outgoing settings

smtp.aol.com

Outgoing Port 587

Use secure server YES

Verify Certificate YES

Hey Thanks for the suggestion, but it still did not work. I just give up. Hopefully when I upgrade to the Driod X things will be different. I have had the Droid less than a year and I am on my 2nd one already due to the 1st one being a real lemon and then they replace it with a refurbished one.

K check with AOL, the outgoing server will be different than what you have on your home computer.

DO NOT VERIFY CERTIFICATES.

DO always use your credentials when sending.

I did that also, but still nothing. I am going to call AOL and see what there suggestions are because I have done everuthing else and everything keeps pointing to AOL itself. Thanks

My Galaxy S3 Had the same problem. There was a place in settings other that said require sign in. I checked it and entered my log in information. I then tried sending an email and it worked.
