3g mobile hotspot

Hello everyone, I have a quick question about the mobile hotspot feature. I bought it for my droid 2, which it was 20 bucks for 2 gigs a month. Im a little confused on the 2gb part. Can someone explain it a little more plz.. Like if I was on my laptop using the hotspot feature, and I decide to download something that is lets say 3gbs, would that then use up all my data for that month? just curious.

Not only would that use up all your data for the month, you'd get a nice $50 charge on your bill for overage.

It's $.05/MB for everything over 2 GB.

Ok thanks for the info, I think its a little insane they charge 20bucks for only 2 gbs. I had an unlimited plan for a data card I had with alltel. Cant quit figure out there reasons for charging so much for so little of data usage. there should be an unlimtied plan also for the hotspot feature. espically for people that are always travaling places. just my thoughts on the hotspot feature.

I think they should've included it in the $30 per month we have to pay just for owning a smartphone. Oh well, I can dream I suppose.....

Using your laptop to surf via your own tethered smart phone- should be free! We already pay $29 extra a month for owning a smart phone. Surfing should be free regardless of if we do it on the phone or on the laptop thru the phone. I was duped when I signed up with a pair of new Droids thinking it would be included with the smart phone package.
