Blocking Calls and Text

If I block a number from calling or texting my child, will the person know that they are blocked? if so what will they see or hear? Will my child know that the number has been blocked (I dont want him to know that I have blocked this "friend"), what will my child hear or see when they try to text or call?

When you block a number from contacting one of the numbers on your account from calling, it does tell the caller that there is a feature on the account that is preventing the completion of their call. Texting-wise, the person being blocked won't know it didn't get to its destination. The person the block is blocking the number from doesn't get any kind of notification, whether being called or texted.
