Rebuilding my residential wireless network.
Krokodile
I am a mac user (three macs in the house) and have just purchased a 1TB Time Capsule. I wish to replace the existing D-Link 624 with my Time Capsule which is 802.11n Wi-Fi. Does anyone know how to rewire things so I can eliminate the fossil D-Link, or will I have to live with the D-Link between the wall and my Time Capsule?

Are you PPPoE or DHCP on the D-Link? If you are PPPoE all you need is your User name and password. If you are DHCP you are MAC bound. You will either need to call Verizon to release the IP address or unplug the D-Link before you go to bed at night and plug your router in when you wake up. Make sure you plug the right ethernet lines into the WAN and LAN ports.
