Wifi Cap
Joe194444
is there a wifi cap. I used to be on comcast in MD. Iw as able to pobtain 1.5-2.0 megs a sec over wifi on a supped up comp rig (gamer) using a Linksys router. Now on fios. the same rig caps at 600 kbs. Very frustrating. Any idea how to increas the transmission rate without hardwireing it?

WiFi is set to 802.11g, What I did to get a better wifi signal is to setup a second wifi hotspot in my house right next to my xbox360. I setup the secondary wifi, and a pass though router, does not have DHCP, Firewall, NAt or anything. Its more like a wireless hup. I used the fios one as my main router, with IP of 192.168.0.1 and the pass thought belkin at 192.168.0.2, and set DHCP on to fios router only with a range of 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.253. With this setup I am able to stream HD shows from my vista media center, that I was not able to from my fios router that was about 15 feet from my 360. I hope this helps, let me know if you need more help..
