Green Connector Inside BBU

As part of a inside move and home recablng project, I disconnect the 8 wires from the green connector inside the BBU. I thought they would go back in with reasonable pressure, but there seems to be a trick I've missed. I got all the cables in, with some trouble, and the 2 larger cables that go to the AC powerplug are in but not as tight as I would like. One of the power cables came loose a few days after and everything (phone, internet, cable TV) went out. Any hints on reattaching those wires with that green jack?

You need a very small screw driver for this operation. Stick the screw driver in the round hole and pull it toward you to open the connector. The red and black wires are a heaver stranded guage. Once the wire is stripped, cut 3 or 4 strands off...twist the wire...re-seat it and never touch it again.

Thanks. I already got them all back in but none of them seated without significant force on closing. What I need to know is how to close them properly without coming close to breaking them - there's always a trick. I may just need to call a Verizon tech and pay the hourly fee.

Trust me when I tell you...we go through that all the time. It's easier to remove a few of the braids than to kill yourself trying to force it. It wasn't the greatest design. The newer Ont's now have the power supply built in.
