connecting xbox360 live

When I try to connect xbox360 live to Fios I am using a wireless router Ultraline Series 9100EM. The xbox console finds the router but will not connect. It says it can not find the IP address. I put the IP address in manually and it still doesn't work. I called xbox and they say it is not their problem to call the internet provider. Has anybody run across this and how was it resolved?

The work arounds that I have read are to buy the original xbox adapter (MN-740 adapter), it will work. You can also buy another router, and just set it as an access point behind your actiontec, and that will work as well. Or, if possible, just run a cat5 drop, and hardwire it.
