FTP recomendations

I need to maintain a web page for a group that I am a member of. I have the information that I need to access and update the site but I will need to obtain a FTP. Current person has been using an old FTP_95 and I currently don't have FTP software. I would like some recomendations and if any of the free ones are worth trying and using. I am currently using my laptop and I am not sure I want to install it on this. I am thinking it will take up way more space than I want it to and the files themselves would be large as they contain pictures. I am also wondering if there are any problems I should know about when using wifi and fios with ftp.

In fact I just updated my organizations website last night so I can't imagine FTP over FIOS being a problem.

As for the space issues on the laptop I can't say one way or the other.
