Does anyone know how i can connect my old VCR to the Fios box? There are no instructions in the manual. It is a Panasonic VCR.
Thanks..e
The answer depends upon the type of FiOS box you have. The easiest is to take the RF output from the FiOS box (if it has one, not all do), and connect it to the VCR's antenna input. The signal from the FiOS box will appear on channel 3 or 4.
All FiOS boxes do have composite and S-Video output. Most VCR's have Composite Video input, and many high end VCR's also have S-Video input. With FiOS boxes, all outputs are active simultaneously, so you can run your TV off the HDMI cable or component output, and the Video for the VCR can be from either the composite Video output, or S-Video output if your VCR supports it. Your VCR then needs to record from an AUX input (many VCR's have both front and back aux inputs).
Audio is a bit more complex. If you have HDMI for your TV, you can just connect the audio outputs RCA connections on the back of the FiOS box to the Audio inputs on your VCR. If your TV uses Component Video, you will need a Y connector so you can run audio to both your TV and the VCR with AV cables.
The VCR can then be connected to the TV via either the antenna out on the VCR, or using the VCR's composite Video or S-Video output to the one of the TV's Aux inputs, and the audio outputs of the VCR to the corresponding AUX input on the TV.
Sounds messier than it really is. Generally the S-video connection is higher quality video than the composite video, but you need an S-Video cable, which tends to be more expensive than the standard AV Cables. You will be able to record both SD and HD programming(if you have a HD STB) in SD on the VCR when you are done.
found this on verizon's site, it may help you too.

I too have this problem. I had hoped that someone had already tried my planned solution. The cable input would go through a A/B switch. If I wanted the VCR, I would then bypass the FIOS input and go from VCR (or DVD) direct to TV
Hope it works
I hooked up my vcr according to Verizon wiring diagram. I was told to change teh source to VCR, but no explanation of what or how. I am getting no audio or video. Motorola 2500-3.
Are you trying to play the VCR through the STB?
That doesn't work.
Which setup did you use?
You would need to conenct coax to STB.Then connect output of STB (either coax or video/audio) to VCR.
If you are using coax, most of the time, you can leave VCR off, tune TV to channel selected in STB (either 3 or 4) and then it will play on TV fine.
If you are using audio/video to VCR, then you will have to turn VCR on and select the appropriate input to have it show on TV.
