Verizon FIOs connect with Odyssey Access Client Manager

For work I have been using the Odyssey Access Client Manager for logging onto the internet from home. We do use VPN and it works everywhere I have tried it until now. I recently got Verizon FIOs and no longer can connect to the internet. I'm trying to determine the best network settings to allow myself to connect. I have been able to get the signal to run for

Association Mode: OPEN

Encryption Method: WEP

Key 0: My password

But after the computer appears to be loading - the internet never actually connects. I tried te WAP & TKIP like my old internet service used with my password, but it just continues to say searching instead of actually connecting. I was told I these clients reset IP and may need to turn off and back on the router - but I can't seem to find the power button on the huge home installed router system.

Please advise.

There is nothing you should have to change on Verizons end in order to get your VPN to work on FIOS. FIOS is compatible with VPN connections. You will have to talk with the help desk for your company to see whats going on with your VPN connection.

I changed to WPA and changed encryption to each available setting until it worked. Not sure what encryption I used but there are only a few choices, so use trial and error.

Make sure you use hexadecimal and not the default ASCII when you enter you pass phrase. so it is Open, WEP, and hexadecimal, and enter your pass phrase and you are all set

There is an on and off switch in the back of the router.

Does your computer require the use of the Odyssey Access Client Manager in order to even get onto a network or is it simply something that is used to connect to the VPN? In older versiond of Odyssey, there is a checkbox you can check or uncheck to tell the system whether or not you want Odyssey to manage your Wireless connection. If you uncheck that, see if you can use the built-in Windows tool to connect up and THEN connect to the VPN if need be.

I would also check to see if you have any other Wireless devices that see issues with the Wi-Fi. If it's just one computer, it could be driver issues, a Wi-Fi adapter configuration issue, or the Wi-FI management software having issues. It could also be a router setting that is causing issues.

The best thing to do in this case would to be to Speak to your IT Department about this to see if they have any solution for this.

There is an on and off switch in the back of the router.

That huge home installed router system is the ONT, Follow the coax that comes out of it and you will find the router - normal sized box with an antenna sticking out of it.

There will be a on off switch on the back or just disconnect the 110v power block.

I see the last response was to what I would call a dead thread.

However I did think the comment re the huge home installed router system was amusing.
