IPV6 initial setup.

I had trouble with my older actiontec router, so they shipped me a new one. It works good, I ended up stumbling upon the IPv6 setup in the advanced menu. It seems simple, so I set it up to use dhcpv6 and pick up an IP address from Verizon.

The trouble is it seems to not get anything from the upstream, does this require a custom setup - say static IPv6 address (/64) for routing and a pool of IPv6 address (/48) for local distribution?

If anybody knows the technique or has been through this, please pass on the contact and way to get this working, I can just follow your learning curve !

At the present time Verizon does not support IPv6. So you can ignore those settings.

I hear from other people that they are getting IPV6 service in Washington DC metro area. Is this only on specific locations? I would think being a larger metro population IPv6 should be available here by now.

Verizon will not be specific, but when I spoke to someone this week, they indicated we (in the MVA) are scheduled for completion by the end of this year. Of course I've heard this before, so we'll have to wait and see I suppose.
