Can I have both ethernet and coax conections?

I have Fios installed and the router is connected to the ONT via coax. I just bought a second router to put in the basement to improve the connection down there. Can I connect this new router to the ONT via ethernet cable from the WAN jack on the router to the Ethernet jact on the ONT or do I need to split the coax and use that?

If you use Coax for connecting your router to the ONT, you'll want to use Coaxial to connect up your secondary router (which needs to be configured as a bridge, not a router). The ONT will not do Coaxial and Ethernet at the same time for Internet access.
