If I move, can I watch videos on my DVR before the next install tech comes?

I have a CHS 435HDC.

To simulate this: I've tried uplugging the FiOS cable and rebooting the DVR but it can't get past the "Initial download in progress, it takes about a minute" screen. Is there any way to bypass this to watch recorded videos until it is reconnected?

Not likely, although you've posed an interesting query. However since the box will not be activated or provisioned at the new location until the tech arrives and actually makes the install, it probably won't be able to use the network to provide content, even if it's directly connected to your display device. BTW this is a guess, although a considered one.

Another thought: how do you plan to hold on to the box if you are dropping service at the first location?
