Will my box work at my college?

I am from new jersey, and that is where I get Verizon fios. I go to SUNY New Paltz, and I wanted to know if I brought my set top box to college would it work? The school offers free cable, but it is only basic channels. Would I be able to plug the auxiliary cord into the back of the box and then an HDMI into my TV or would it just flat out not work? Thanks for all of your help guys!

You will need a very long piece of coax. BTW, are you an EE major?

On a slightly more serious note, since you are a VZ subscriber you will be able to use various "on-the-go" services on mobile devices. I'm not entirely certain which services will apply, but you can look around on these forums and the Internet for details. Your STB from home will only work at the subscribed location. It's not portable, even though a few other online services such a VoIP phones can be used at different locations.
