Cannot redeem Verizon Gift Card

I have a $50 Verizon gift card that I am unable to redeem. I keep receiving the same message when attempting to redeem:

Due to a system issue, the reward website is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

Has anyone been able to find a solution to this?? It looks like many people have experienced this issue.
