Problem 1 I discovered that there is a separate support number and group for supporting your Verizon online backup issues. (not posted on Verizon website that I could find.).
Solution:1. {edited for privacy} this is the only software they support.
Problem 2. After the pre-scripted automated install of the Verizononline Backup, it wants you to login so it can get started, it prompts you for a login id and password. it returns an error 204 and asks for your Login id and password again you get error 204.
After 3 hours going through the site and getting the un-posted number from the chat support (because they don't support VerizonOnline Backup) I called the un-posted number {edited for privacy}.
Solution 2. The VerizonOnline Backup Support agent asked me if I have any special characters in my password. (Yes I Did) he said that in order to use the VerizonOnline Backup I had to change my Verizon account password so it does not have any special characters.
Note of Caution: In this day and age of heightened Security Awareness and strong passwords are suggested (also by using some special characters). for emails bank accounts, how is it safe for me to reduce the security level of my Verizon account just to use online backup (of which I'm also paying for ) to make everything that's backed up easier to be compromised? NO
I Opted NOT to Participate Thank you,
My Choice: I decided until they get that fixed it was safer and only $115 for a 3TB External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 File Backup and Storage with software included. plugs nicely into the router and all my computers can store to it and it's secure.
To un install VerizonOnline Backup just double-click the install file and it will give you the option to repair or remove VerizonOnline Backup if you so choose.
