This is what I just did:

1) Logged in to VZ Acct.

2) Services

3) FIOS Internet

4) Manage Services

5) Internet Management

6) Verizon Wi-Fi—Manage

7) Find Wi Fi hotspots

😎 Eligible for Verizon Wi-Fi

9) Register Now

10) Accessing my Account…..

TROUBLESHOOTING

OPERATING SYSTEM NOT SUPPORTED

Verizon Wi-Fi currently supports:

Windows XP (32-bit only) Vista and Windows 7

in the light of ABOVE:,

1) How do VZ customers who travel with iPad’s get FREE VZ hotspots at airports ?

2) If Boingo.com is used can you “hook up” via them for FREE since we are eligible VZ Fios nternet customers ?

3) PLEASE SHARE DEAILS OF HOW YOU DO IT.

You register for the Verizon WiFi account on a supported OS, then use the username and password that you set up to access the hotspots on your iPad.

I cannot address the O/S issue, although I like "somegirl's" suggestion quite a bit. I also have encountered the "registration ... tech difficulties ... etc." error pattern. In my case the only solution was to wait it out, since it appeared to be a VZ issue on the server side. I subsequently was able to complete the download and registration after one or two days. BTW this happened on a fresh and very clean XP SP3 install.

Deleted all downloads of this type VZ.WIFI_2013_2013_10_19_22_970fnwm.app.exe

Everytime I download it is a different .exe filename

HOW DO YOU GET THE RIGHT "OFFICIAL" VZ EMPLOYEE TO HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM ?

Please go to your profile page for the forum by clicking on your name, and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Private Support Cases". There you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

Update after working with VZ support---PROBLEM NOT SOLVED

6-17-2013 2:36 pm Worked with VZ Got to User ID and PWD

He "took over" my PC

SAME PROBLEM. Switched to IE 8 from google chrome did not solve prob.

We also temporarily turned off my Norton 360 firewall

VZ “I’ve seen this before” …. JUST KEEP TRYING

PROBLEM STILL THE SAME... GET AS FAR AS SEEING THE USER ID THAT I CREATED

WHEN I GO TO NEXT STEP "DOWNLOAD NOW"

"VZ" IS AWARE OF IT

THEY ARE WORKING ON IT FROM THEIR END.

THEY PROMISED TO LET ME KNOW WHEN IT WAS FIXED

Was eventually able to complete Wi Fi REgistration on (B)

Both computers Have Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile Setup_4.030319

We tried all 3 Browsers IE 8, Google Chrome and Firefox on (A) ..... could not complete registration.

IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT NOW THAT I HAVE A WiFI ID and Password I will be able to use these credentials

when I sign in to a Boingo hotspot site USING MY iPad AT THE AIRPORT .... EWR for ex.

PLEASE TELL ME EXACTLY HOW I WILL BE SIGNING IN TO A BOINGO SITE TO USE THEIR FREE SERVICE TO ME
