One computer in the house (mine) is receiving lowered internet speeds compared to the rest.

As stated in the title, my computer is receiving 9/9 Up/Down speeds while every other computer receives 80/35 speeds. I have tried a new router and connecting my computer directly to the router but it is not working. I have even tried the optimizer, anyone have any help at all or anything for me to do to get information that may help?

It's possible the issue on that one computer is the network card or adapter itself. If the rest are getting good speeds I highly doubt it has anything to do with the fios end.

How is the computer computer connected to the router? wired, through a switch

How are the other computers connected to the router? Wired through a switch + directly.

I dont think it's fios but something on my computer limiting the connection, came here after verizon tech support + another tech support not helping hoping someone would have answers that could help troubleshoot to see around what's wrong.

What speed is that computer negotiating with the router?

It sounds like it's negotiating a 10 Mbps connection between the computer and the router.

Check the lights on the router port and make sure it's indicating a 100Mbps or 1Gbps connection.

If you have tried different Cat5 cables and various ports on the switch and the results is still slow speeds then your need to look at your PC's Ethernet adapter.

First use a flashlight and inspect the Ethernet jack on the computer and be sure none of the pins are bent or misalligned. If they are use a tooth pick and try to correct the problem. If the pins are dirty or corroded you can try to clean them using the eraser on the end of a pencil

Then check to see if there might be a new driver for your adapter. Also compare the settings on the adapter match up with the settings on the adapter for the computer that is working well.

Finally using Windows uninstall the adapter and then restart the PC and let Windows discover the new hardware and reinstall the adapter.

It's in a 10/100 jack. I will go look right now for a better jack for it.
