Can't ping one wireless laptop from router

All,

I'm having a weird network problem from an older XP machine. I have it on wireless, it's on the Internet no problem. I can ping any machine on my network from the command prompt, but I can't telnet to another machine. From the router, I can ping any machine, except for the XP one. Looks like Port Forwarding is working correctly, firewall is normal, no idea what's up. Any ideas?

XP can have settings such as ICMP Response set per interface within the Windows Firewall. See this page for more information: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc875811.aspx#XSLTsection125121120120

In short, under Windows Firewall > Advanced, you will need to select the Wireless Network Adapter and configure the adapter's individual setting. What you're looking for is the setting that applies to either responding to ICMP traffic, or to block ICMP traffic under the ICMP tab.

Might be related to the igmp proxy problem. Try turning that off on the router.

Tried that, no luck. Any other ideas?

My XP is very rusty, so this may not be relevant. But in WIN7 telnet has to be enabled in Windows features. Found in the control panel.

You mentioned checking port forwarding and firewall. Did you check Remote Administration under the router Advanced Settings tab?

Nope. But it does seem to only error when the machine is on wireless not wired. Anybody know a setting that would be causing that in XP?
