My STB/DVR keeps rebooting about a dozen or more times a day. It started about a month ago. My DVR (model Motorola QIP6416-2) is around 10 years old. I don't have any home automation on the network, or anything else except a laptop via Ethernet. The DVR is now, and always has been on an open shelf by itself with nothing blocking the air flow. I had assumed it was due to yet another screwed up software release from Verizon, and they would soon fix it. But it's getting worse (more reboots) rather than better. I saw another post where they said it apparently was a splitter problem. Not sure why a passive splitter would cause a problem, unless you need a special Verizon splitter. Earlier this year Verizon sent a letter saying they were sending out new STBs, and I was responsible for sending back my old one. That's the last I heard of that. Was if canceled? Do I now need to have my STB/DVR replaced due to some software update that doesn't work with my old one? (Currently running release 1.9.4, build number 16.13.)
