What I mean is, do you see any problems, because I've been experiencing horrible lag in games, i.e. characters skipping frames, teleporting in game.

What sites are you having problems with loading videos from? Also, what game(s) are you seeing lag on and for what platform (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, etc). I assume your devices are on Ethernet for the ones that are seeing lag, or are there some things on Wireless that see the lag more?

Well, the videos are from youtube, but it seems to have died down a bit once I switched to 100Mb/s full duplex (Also, regarding that, should I just switch to 1Gbps full duplex, or does that matter?). Anyways, it is Xbox 360 and several games, such as The Orange Box (TF2), Modern Warfare 3, among others. Also, yes, they are on an ethernet connection, as soon as I started lagging horribly, I tried to cut wireless out of the equation.

Sounds pretty good then. I would honestly set the NIC to use auto-sense or auto detect. 100Mbps Full Duplex should do what it states but it's found that many NICs will use 100Mbps Half Duplex instead of Full Duplex when set to that mode. Why they do that is beyond me. 1Gbps Full Duplex should work nice if you have a Gigabit switch or router that your computer is connected to, but either way leave it to auto and let the NIC decide. That should be working just fine.

YouTube has been pretty awful lately. I've been seeing problems with it performance wise at night for the past few weeks. It seems like their CDN is playing up again and not reliably distributing load to other caches. I have tricks to speed things up but it's tedious and involves downloading the video to view it.

My max connection speed right now with Verizon is 5Mbps via DSL. I'm trialing the speed out for them but I've not seen any issues with speed on the connection. If you notice however, the Black line shows nice performance and then it starts sagging down nice and low. It's also dropping for the other ISPs in this area as well so it's not just Verizon.

Some demo, for example. While it is 1:25AM and load on the caches is lessening, earlier today I was seeing speeds as low as 40KB/s. Pretty bad for streaming 1080p or Original quality video. Here's a screenshot of bad right now:

... just to hush those up who think Verizon throttles YouTube or it's a Verizon issue why the site runs slowly. It's something Google has to fix and I can assure you that sites such as Vimeo which are powered by Akamai for streaming will run a lot better.

As for the lag on the games, the thing to keep in mind with consoles is more often than not, other players' consoles that have Open NAT/NAT1 (basically those who have UPnP or Port Forwarding going for their console) are hosting the connection. It's possible you've just been running into a bad batch of hosters who have poor connections or lag spike every now and again. If you have some games that use fully dedicated servers, those should be some better tests. Team Fortress 2 if you have a PC capable of running the game is free to play, so if you have a Steam account try using that. Tons of dedicated servers to try against to see if it's actually something going on with the FiOS connection or if it's just what I mentioned about the consoles.

I've been experiencing a lot of lag spikes on FIOS in the last few weeks as well. Playing D3, WoW, Mechwarrior Online is painful.

Yeah, getting the same experience here too, plenty of online games getting heavy lag.

Has been happening for the past week and a half for me.

Look at the latency within Verizon's own network (ALTER.NET) and hitting Level 3, another tier one provider. What do you expect from a company that manages their network like that?
