I want to configure my Port Forwarding as shown above, I can't get the 191.168.1.50:10000 (Static IP address - Colon - Destination Port), how is this done, the colon between the Static IP Address and Destination Port?

Don't worry about the colon. It's just a notation convention to separate the port number from the IP address.

Setting up a port forward is a fill in the boxes form

You can find directions for ther rev. I here:

Go to the second set of instructions on page 2 "Create a Custom Port Forwarding Rule".

Ignore the bit about the default password in instruction #2.

Note instruction #7. In the second drop-down list, select Custom Ports.

In your browser enter whatismyipaddress.com

Note the address - this is the external address of your router

To access your port forwaded device you would need to enter the noted ip address followed by :10000

e.g. if your noted ip address was 108.7.54.99 you would enter

for a browser http://108.7.54.99:10000

similarly for other apps

After configuring Port Forwarding peer the instructions, I get the following results:

Networked Computer/Device:

191.168.1.50

Applications & Ports Forwarded:

TCP Any -> 10000

UDP Any -> 10000

WAN Connection Type:

All Broadband Devices

Status:

Active

When I use the portforward.com "Open Port Tool", I get the following Port Check Results:

Ping Result: We were able to ping your router
TCP: Your port is NOT OPEN or reachable!
UDP: Your port is NOT OPEN or reachable!

I still have a port forwarding problem.

PS A working application on my PC with port forwarding has the Network Computer/Device configured as 192.168.1.50:38316. This is why I wanted to configure port forwarding in this manner.

You made the port forward rule ACTIVE?

You DO have a listener on the device? because that is the message that you get from that app if your port forwarding command points to a device that is not running any app that is listening on the port.

A quick test for you to prove if it works.

Presuming you are running windows, activate remote access - right mouse click computer, select propertes, select remote select allow computers to connect with any version

Build a port forward rule tcpany -> 3389

save it and make it active

run your port checker for 3389

It should say open or open on another device (depends if you have multiple routers)

remember to turn off remote and or the pf rule after you tested it unless you want to be able to reach your desktop from outside - if so I'd suggest changing your rdp listener to a non standard port and then change the pf rule to that non standard port.

In the port forwording screen, there is a "port to forward to" field. The default is "Same as incoming".
If you left this as default, then you're going to forward to port 10000 on the target PC.
That's not where your application is listening.
In the "port to forward to" pulldown, select "Custom". A new field will open up.
Enter 38316 in that field and click Apply.
